Selection Criteria for the Coordinator of the General
Education Program
The following criteria are required:
- Full-time tenured or full-time tenure-track faculty member
- Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of general education
- Openness to the varying perspectives of students, faculty, and
administrators about the General Education program at Millersville
- Effective communication and leadership skills
The following criterion is preferred:
- Knowledge of assessment processes and practices
Selection Process for the Coorindator of the General Education
Program
- A Subcommittee of the GERC will be elected to recruit applicants,
review applications, interview those individuals they feel are most
qualified and make a final recommendation to the Provost regarding the
position.
- Recruitment will take place through an open announcement mailed to all
MU faculty and through a targeted campaign in which possible candidates
deemed by the Selection Subcommittee as especially well suited to the task
will be contacted by the Subcommittee and encouraged to apply.
- Applicants will be asked to submit a curriculum vitae and a letter of
interest that highlights how they fit the selection criteria specified
above.
