Assessment
13. Assessment--The new curricula have measurable goals that are easily
communicated. Ongoing assessment assures that the curriculum is facilitating
achieving these goals.
Although a great deal has been said about assessment of the general education
curriculum, precious little has been accomplished. General Education Review
has begun the process, but a significant obstacle is the lack of clearly
defined and measurable objectives. A plan for the future is to restate goals
in a form that makes them measurable, or perhaps to formulate alternative
objectives that can be measured.
