Liberal Arts and Sciences
1. Liberal Arts and Sciences--General education includes requirements
that involve: history, culture, science and technology, human motivation and
behavior, logical and critical thinking, and clarity of expression.
Millersville has never lost sight of the need for students to be broadly
versed in the liberal arts. Its curriculum has never abandoned the liberal
arts for solely vocationally-related programs. Millersville requires 54
credits of general education, compared to a national average of 49.2 credits.
On the other hand, Millersville has not and does not require a specific
sequence of courses or even courses chosen from specific disciplines. It does
not require that all students share a common liberal arts experience.
