1. Course Approvals
BIOL 247: Biodiversity, a new three credit hour general education C course effective Spring 1995.
ENGL 430: Studies in American Ethnic Literature Since 1945, a new three credit hour General Education and Perspectives course to be first offered in the Fall of 1995 if approved.
MATH 537: Statistical Problem Solving Seminar, a 1 credit hour nonGeneral Education course to be first offered in the Spring of 1996 if approved.
PSYC 566: Clinical Hypnosis, a new three credit hour graduate course.
2. Revisions To The Governance Manual To Include Changes That Senate Approved Concerning Student Leadership
Some student members serving on senate committees are not elected by student senate. One is elected by the graduate students orgranization and a couple are appointed by the Vice-President for Student Affairs G. Reighard. The Governance Manual will be changed to say that those students are also included in the motion that senate approved at its 18 April 1995 meeting.
3. University Theme Committee Proposals
Senate approved the themes for the 1997-98 and 1998-99 academic years. It approved Culture and Communication in the Electronic Village for the 1997-98 academic year and MU, a Community of Learners, for the 1998-99 academic year.
4. Revisions to the BS Secondary Education Social Studies Major
Senate revised the BS Secondary Education Social Studies major rules. Social studies majors are considered majors in the department in which they are taking their option.
5. Revision in the Departmental Evaluation of Major Policy
Senate revised the departmental evaluation of major policy as stated in the Governance Manual.
6. New Senate Standing Committee
Senate approved a new standing committee, an Admissions, Advisement and Student Affairs Committee.
