| Some student members serving on senate committees are not elected by student senate. One is elected by the graduate students orgranization and a couple are appointed by the Vice-President for Student Affairs G. Reighard. The Governance Manual will be changed to say that those students are also included in the motion that senate approved at its 18 April 1995 meeting. | ||||

| Senate approved the themes for the 1997-98 and 1998-99 academic years. It approved Culture and Communication in the Electronic Village for the 1997-98 academic year and MU, a Community of Learners, for the 1998-99 academic year. | ||||
| 4. | Revisions to the BS Secondary Education Social Studies Major | |||
| Senate revised the BS Secondary Education Social Studies major rules. Social studies majors are considered majors in the department in which they are taking their option. | ||||
