1. Course and Program Approvals
Notification of Course Approvals
President J. Caputo approved senate curricular recommendations (see Attachment A of today's minutes).
Senate approved four undergraduate courses and one graduate course:
Undergraduate
PSCI327: Canadian Government and Politics, a new three credit hour Perspectives course seeking credit retroactive to Spring, 1995.
AFAM201: Introduction to African American Studies, a new three credit hour liberal arts core course to be first offered in the Fall of 1996.
AFAM496: Topics in African American Studies, a new three credit hour nongeneral education course to be first offered in the Fall of 1996.
Graduate
EDUC576: Strategies for Classroom Management, a new three credit hour course to be first offered Fall 1996.
Senate approved the following program or changes:
Minor in Statistics, a new minor program to be first offered in the Fall of 1996.
Curriculum Changes in Biology, Biology changes to take effect Fall 1996.
Admission to Biology Major Requirements, changes to take effect Fall 1996.
Changes in Prerequisites to BIOL254 and 255, changes to take effect Summer 1996.
2. Faculty Emeritus
Senate recommended Associate Professor Donald J. Rudy of the Educational Foundations Department for faculty emeritus status.
3. The Millersville University Grading System
Senate approved two amendments to a motion that Millersville University have a plus and minus grading system. The original motion is to have plus and minus additions on B and C grades and an A minus grade. The first amendment adds plus and minus grades for the D grade. The second amendment calls for senate to decide the numerical value of the plus and minus grades for QPA purposes.
4. New Couse Approval Form
Senate approved a new course approval form.
