Proposed Courses and Programs

  1. CHANGES IN COURSES/CURRICULA
    Revision to policies for admission to various options within the Speech Communications major: the Communication Studies Option, the Theatre Option, the Broadcasting Option and the Public Relations Option. Students from other departments seeking admission into the Speech Communication major must have an overall QPA of 2.5 and must earn a C or better in COMM 101 to be admitted into the major. Effective Fall 2002. The proposal passed without dissent.

  2. CHANGES IN COURSES/CURRICULA
    A change in the General Education Fundamentals Competency requirement for COMM 100 (Fundamentals of Speech) from C- to C as per the Communication and Theatre Departments original intent. Effective Fall 2002. The proposal passed without dissent.

  3. CHANGES IN COURSES/CURRICULA
    Increase in credit hours to Military Science courses. These changes more accurately represent the time required by students to complete each course. The credit increase would increase the number of credits a student could earn in the Military Science program from 14 to 18 credits. The proposal also includes a request that only 12 of the 18 credits be applied toward the 120 minimum credit requirement for graduation. Effective Spring 2002.   4. NEW UNDERGRADUATE COURSE
    ESCI 346 - Applied Climatology, 3 credits, 3 credits. Effective Spring 2002. The proposal passed without dissent.

  5. CHANGES IN COURSES/CURRICULA
    Addition of an option to the Physics major, a B. A. in Physics with an Emphasis in Computer Science, 124 semester hours. Effective Spring 2002. The proposal passed without dissent.

    Addition of an option to the Physics major, a B. A. in Physics with an Emphasis in Polymer Chemistry, 120 semester hours. Effective Spring 2002. The proposal passed without dissent.
