As the President's designee, I am informing you of the approval of the
following Faculty Senate Curricular Actions:
1. Faculty Senate actions at meeting on October 17, 2000
New Undergraduate Courses
ESCI 386 - Earth System Data Visualization and Modeling
- 3 credits
- Pre-requisites: ESCI 282, MATH 162, PHYS 231
Approved, effective Fall 2001
COMMENT: This course was offered as ESCI 390 in Spring 2000. Students who
took ESCI 390 may use it in place of ESCI 386, if necessary.
ANTH 227 - Culture Through Film
- 3 credits
- Pre-requisite: ENGL 110
- Elective for Anthropology majors, minors and Latino Studies minors
- G3
- Writing (W) Course
Approved, effective Fall 2001.
Changes in Courses/Curricula:
Make the following changes in the BS Meteorology major
- Delete CSCI 160/161 from required related list
- Add ESCI 386 to required earth sciences courses
- Move ESCI 380 from earth sciences elective to required earth sciences
courses
- Add ESCI 380 to the pre-requisites lists for ESCI 347 and ESCI 449
- Move ESCI 485 from required earth sciences courses to earth sciences
electives
- Change major field requirements to 51 credits and other requirements to 32
credits
- Change required related credits from 35 to 32
