As the President's designee, I am informing you of the approval of the following Faculty Senate Curricular Actions:
1) Faculty Senate actions at meeting on June 13, 2000
Approved, retroactively for all currently enrolled students
a) increase the required cumulative GPA from 2.0 to 2.5
AND
b) append the phrase "and early field experiences" to the statement requiring students to successfully complete required professional education courses.
COMMENT: This change brings the university policy in line with current Advanced Professional Studies policy. The change will only be effective in fall 2001 to allow time for new students to successfully meet the requirement. The university catalog on the web should be amended to reflect this change. (See 2000-02 Undergraduate University Catalog, pages 38-39)
Approved, effective Fall 2001
In addition, the following Theatre course number and title changes must
occur:
a) THEA 211, Acting, to THEA 230, Acting II
b) THEA 110, Introductory Theatre Techniques to THEA 130, Acting I
Approved, effective Fall 2000
COMMENT: This change will provide a more accurate description of the current content and methodology of this program. The course designation change to GOVT requires substantial coding changes in Banner and related systems and will not be implemented until fall 2001.
