SUBJECT:	APPROVAL OF FACULTY SENATE CURRICULAR RECOMMENDATIONS

As the President's designee, I am informing you of the approval of the following Faculty Senate Curricular Actions:

Changes in Courses/Curricula:

Revisions to BS Industrial Technology Majors

Current Curriculum	Proposed Changes	Analysis/Implications
BS ITEC Major Field Requirements Total hours required is a minimum of 120* credits for graduation Technology Literacy Core: 12 credits Management Core: 12 credits Electives in Management Core: 9 credits	BS ITEC Major Field Requirements The total credit hours required with the options, including general education credits, remains the same at a minimum of 120*. Technology Literacy Core: Delete ITEC 100 - decrease requirements to 9 credits Management Core: Add BUAD 251 - increase requirements to 15 credits (BUAD 251 will count in the major and not in general education for BS ITEC majors) Electives in Management Core: Delete 493 (3-6 credits). Add ITEC 300 and 400 - requirement remains the same at 9 credits	These changes enable compliance with curricular standard 6.3.5 for Industrial Technology accreditation by the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT). Furthermore, the elimination of the G4 general education 3-credit elective (Administrative approval October 3, 2002), all the BS ITEC programs will be in compliance with the State System's new policy of students earning 120 credits to graduate from Millersville University.
