Undergrad policy             2/17/2004 3/1/2004 Rounded Grades Grade point average (GPA) will be rounded 2 places. History: Until SU99 MU rounded the GPA; but the Banner system that was installed in 1999 allowed truncation of the GPA. The latest version of Banner, which will be installed during the SP04, allows the option of truncating or rounding the GPA. I.E. 1.9999, 1.9950, 1.9949 & 1.9900 truncate to 1.99. However, 1.9950-1.9999 rounds to 2.00 while 1.9900-1.9949 rounds to 1.99. Rationale: Positively affects students acad standing, grad. honors eligibility, certification & grad requirements. 3/3/2004 Administrative Approval 3/4/2004 fa02- continued fall 2004

The task force was charged w/exploring ways to enhance and encourage environmental studies at MU. The outcome of the task force's effort was to create environmental minors that emphsized environmental specialties rather than academic disciplines. Rationale: Environmental science is an inherently multi-disciplinary study. The minors were created as topical areas in that environmental firms are traditionally organized around a specific specialty, whether that is watershed restoration or industrial air quality. APPROVED - The following interdiscplinary environmental science minor proposals will be recommended to the Council of Trustees and Board of Governors. Effective date to be determined when notification of State System approval is received, which is estimated to be approximately one yr from now. 12/17/2003 Administrative Approval 12/19/2003
