The following changes have been identified as minor curricular changes for the Foreign Languages department, Graduate Catalog, effective Spring 2005.

Curricular Change Old Program Description New Program Description for each Language
Revise Graduate catalog description of program requirements to ensure that students clearly understand the program requirements. Students must take 9 credits in Civilization and 9 credits in Literature. The catalog combines the two categories and may not be clear that the student must take 9 credits in each area.

II. Civilization and Literature
(At least three courses in civilization and at least three courses in literature.)

FREN 551 Geography of France, Physical and Economic (3)

FREN 582 Seminar in Renaissance Literature (3)

Separate the civilization and literature courses: requiring at least 3 courses/9 credits in each area and listing the specific courses for each topic.
