SUBJ:	Notification of Minor Curricular Change(s)

The following changes have been identified as minor curricular changes for the Earth Sciences department effective for SPRING 2007 early registration.

Course	Curricular Change: Pre-requisite
ESCI 362 - Marine Geology	ESCI 362 - Marine Geology Revised Pre-req ESCI 261 OR ESCI 221

Rationale: Change in pre-requisite allows the course to be more accessible to students outside the Department of Earth Sciences, in addition to major and minors in Oceanography

Course	Curricular Change: Pre-requisite
ESCI 364 - Descriptive Physical Oceanography	Pre-req: ESCI 261 and PHYS 232 Revised Pre-req ESCI 261 and either PHYS 232 OR PHYS 132

Rationale: Currently, the Oceanography curriculum is being revised and these pre-requisite changes are part of the revision process making the program more accessible. An Oceanography major will have the choice to complete PHYS 232 OR PHYS 132 even though ESCI 364 will still be a required course for the program.
