One-meeting to challenge courses and program:
HNRS/BIOL 212: Honors Zoology Seminar, a new one credit hour course to be first offered in the Fall of 1997 if approved.
GEOG 333: Biogeography, a new three credit hour Liberal Arts Core course to be first offered in the Fall of 1997 if approved.
SOWK 405: Human Behavior and the Social Environment II, a new three credit hour course to be first offered in the Fall of 1997 if approved.
A Music Department Proposal
See the Music Department for a copy of the written proposal. The back of the Music Department proposal includes a proposals group containing 20 or more half credit courses. Four proposals are in the middle third of the document. The curricula needs revising to reflect the new courses; the curricular changes are in the front of the document. The Department has revised all music major, minor, and option requirements.
IX. Faculty Senate Elections
Recently senate increased the size of the Academic Standards Committee from 7 to 11 members. Senate will hold elections for the four additional Committee members. Also Chairperson D. Eidam will accept nominations beginning 1 April 1997 for open positions on senate committees that are to be filled in the Fall elections in September.
X. Report of the General Education Committee
Senator C. Stameshkin may ask that senate continue its discussion of the report of the Task Force on General Education.
