RE: DIVERSITY WEEK

The celebration of Diversity Week "Growing in Understanding" (October 24-28, 1994) is upcoming. This year we hope to promote campus-wide participation in the events we presently have scheduled. Enclosed is a brief listing of these events. We appreciate any help that you could give us in stimulating interest in this week either by giving your students information regarding the week or by encouraging involvement through giving extra credit. We as a campus community must remember that Millersville as a liberal arts school should continue to stimulate interest of diversity and encourage students to learn more about differences in culture, backgrounds, and in lifestyles.

We feel that our past diversity weeks, although successful did not incorporate as much of the diversity on campus. This year's changes have included the participation of many organizations. These organizations have helped in coordinating and publicizing the week's activities. The faculty can further our success in making this year's Diversity Week a more campus-wide event.

Your enthusiasm in encouraging participation in these events would be appreciated. Any questions can be dirrected to the Social Work Department at X-3739 or Kelly Gross at 871-3251.
