Resolution for Emeritus Status for Dr. Edward Beardslee

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS Dr. Edward C. Beardslee, Department of Elementary and Early Childhood
Education retired on May 18, 2001, after 19 years of service to Millersville
University; and
WHEREAS Dr. Edward C. Beardslee conducted numerous mathematics workshops for
local area teachers, was a respected member of local, state, and national
mathematics organizations, and served on a range of departmental committees,
including "Junior Block" Coordinator for three semesters; and
WHEREAS Dr. Edward C. Beardslee spent a semester representing Millersville
University at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland; and
WHEREAS Dr. Edward C. Beardslee published numerous articles and
books--including his Methods for Teaching Elementary Mathematics, Book 1
(Course Guide and Book 2 (Course Activities); and
WHEREAS Dr. Edward C. Beardslee strove diligently to present quality lessons
in all of his undergraduate and graduate courses.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Dr. Edward C. Beardslee be granted the
honorary title of Professor of Elementary and Early Childhood Education
Emeritus.
