SUBJECT: Resolution of Emeritus Status for Dr. Ruth M. Buehler
DATE: November 11, 2002

RESOLUTION

Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler, Professor, retired in May 2002 after 34 years of dedicated services to Millersville University, and

Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler taught 12 undergraduate, 6 graduate courses, and Education Workshops, and

Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler served as Chairperson for the Professional Block, Chairperson of the Promotion, Tenure, Evaluation, and Re-evaluation Committee, Field Service Contact Team, and APSCUF representative, and

Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler advised the student chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children for 11 years

Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler presented in-service workshops for four school districts about Mainstreaming and Behavior Management, and

Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler assisted the university during registration and advised over 50 undergraduate students each semester, and

Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler served on seven departmental search committees and one Dean Search Committee, and

Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler had numerous publications and presentations for national conferences, and Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler obtained four grants for the department and university, and

Whereas Dr. Ruth M. Buehler came to Millersville and served as a demonstration teacher in the laboratory school prior to joining the Department of Special Education.

Therefore Be It Resolved that the Department of Special Education wishes to thank Dr. Ruth M. Buehler for her contributions to Millersville University and asks that she be granted the honorary title of Professor of Special Education Emeritus.
