As of 16 February 2005, the Chemistry Department unanimously approves and recommends the following resolution to Faculty Senate:
WHEREAS Dr. Thomas G. Greco, Professor of Chemistry, has faithfully served the Chemistry Department, Millersville students, and the Millersville community--of which he has been a member in the truest sense of the word-- for 29 years with honor and distinction, and
WHEREAS Dr. Thomas G. Greco has served unselfishly on major faculty committees, notably as Faculty Athletic Representative to the NCAA for 5 years and on the Medal Fund Management Board from 1981 until present, and
WHEREAS Dr. Thomas G. Greco has contributed to the education of all chemistry majors for 29 years in the classroom, teaching laboratories, and supervising undergraduate research, and
WHEREAS Dr. Thomas G. Greco, while maintaining high standards, effectively discharged his teaching duties in Introductory Chemistry for science majors, spearheaded the development of the Environmental Chemistry option, and developed the initial curriculum for the chemistry freshman seminar, and
WHEREAS Dr. Thomas G. Greco served the department as department chair for three years, and
WHEREAS Dr. Tomas G. Greco has faithfully, efficiently, and without seeking recognition, maintained the major pieces of equipment housed in the common instrument room that are used by all our students and faculty in laboratory courses and in research and has served as a resource for the faculty in trouble-shooting instrument repairs and daily operations, and
WHEREAS Dr. Thomas G. Greco distinguished himself as a scholar through his numerous research grants, publications, and presentations and his consultant and reviewing activities in the field of analytical chemistry as recognized by his colleagues,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Dr. Thomas G. Greco be granted the honorary title of Professor of Chemistry Emeritus.
