SUBJECT: | EMERITUS RECOMMENDATION FOR MR. GEORGE D. HAUBER, SR. |
WHEREAS: Mr. George D. Hauber, Sr., Assistant Professor of Industry & Technology, retired January 9, 2004, after completing 34 years teaching at Millersville University, with a total of 37 years in the teaching profession; and
WHEREAS: Mr. George D. Hauber, Sr., received the Commonwealth Teaching Fellow and the Certificate of Excellence in Teaching from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in conjunction with Millersville University's distinguished faculty award program; and
WHEREAS: Mr. George D. Hauber, Sr., has taught undergraduate laboratory courses for Technology Education and Industrial Technology in woodworking technology and manufacturing, construction technology, graphic reproduction, contemporary printing, photo offset printing, basic still photography, communication systems, desktop publishing, and automotive systems; and
WHEREAS: Mr. George D. Hauber, Sr., developed the first construction course at the University and taught it for over 19 years; and
WHEREAS: Mr. George D. Hauber, Sr., has maintained consistent scholarly activities through his attendance at technical workshops; presentations locally and at state conferences in the areas of woodworking, desktop publishing, and automotive systems; and serving as design consultant and desktop publisher for several book projects; and
WHEREAS: Mr. George D. Hauber, Sr., has served and chaired numerous committees for the Department, the Board of Directors of Student Services, the Manheim Township Code of Appeals Board, and Calvary Church Missionary Outreach;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Mr. George D. Hauber, Sr., be granted the honorary title of Assistant Professor of Industry & Technology Emeritus.
