SUBJECT: | Emeritus Recommendation for Dr. Stuart Foreman |
WHEREAS: Dr. Stuart Foreman, Associate Professor of English, retired January 10, 2005, after completing twenty-five and one half years of teaching at Millersville University and a total of forty-one years as an educator; and
WHEREAS: Dr. Stuart Foreman provided invaluable leadership in the TESOL, remedial writing, and basic writing components of the English curriculum; and
WHEREAS: Dr. Stuart Foreman generously and ably served his department as assistant chair for nine years; as a member of numerous important committees, including search committees, evaluation committees, standing committees, and ad hoc committees throughout his tenure at the University; and as a representative to University-wide deliberative bodies like the Teacher Education Council, Dean's Search Committee, Sabbatical Leave Committee, Act 101/P.A.C.E. Advisory Board, and Kokusai Organization Committee; and
WHEREAS: Dr. Stuart Foreman directed the English Department's highly successful peer tutoring program and writing center for fifteen years; and
WHEREAS: Dr. Stuart Foreman developed and oversaw the English Department's contribution to significant University international initiatives like the Kokusai Program and the Shanghai Program;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Dr. Foreman be granted the honorary title of Associate Professor of English Emeritus.
