ITEC301 Technology and its Impact on Humans

The Provost approved the appointment of an assistant to the director of the University Honors Program for the Spring 1996 semester who would then become the Acting Director during the 1996-1997 academic year while John osborne is on sabbatical leave. The committee determined criteria for the position, then called for applications. After a review of the six applications received, the committee made its recommendations to the Provost who appointed Barbara Stengel to the position.

At the recommendation of the Commencement Committee, the UHP committee selected purple cords as part of the academic regalia worn at commencement for recognizing students graduating from the University Honors Program.

Selection of two students to participate in the 1996 SSHE Summer Honors Program to be held in Vienna Austria.

Determination of students who were presented Sophomore/Junior Honor Student Awards at the annual University Honors Program Banquet held April 24, 1996. Matters currently in committee:
Consideration of the codification and standardization of guidelines for honors course proposals and expectations for honors course instructors.
