TO: | Dr. Joel Piperberg Faculty Senate Chairperson |
FROM: | Francine G. McNairy Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs |
DATE: | April 15, 2002 |
SUBJECT: | APPROVAL OF FACULTY SENATE CURRICULAR RECOMMENDATIONS |
As the President's designee, I am informing you of the approval of the following Faculty Senate Curricular Actions:
Faculty Senate action at November 20, 2001 meeting:
Approved, effective Fall 2002
Changes in Courses/Curricula:
Revisions to Master's Degree in Special Education
Required Related Course
COMMENT: The purpose of the proposal is to document and formalize the past practice since 1989 of requiring EDFN 545 as a required related course for the Master's Degree in Special Education. (This request was previously approved as a minor change on 7/19/01). The department has been doing this unofficially for a number of years. This will not add credits to the program.
Approved, retroactive to Fall 1989.
Faculty Senate action at December 4, 2001, meeting:
ESCI 346--Applied Climatology
Approved, effective Fall 2002
Changes in Courses/Curricula
Military Science courses
COMMENT: This change more accurately represents the time required by students to complete each course. The number of credits a student can earn in the Military Science program increases from 14 to 18. However, only 12 of the 18 may apply towards the 120 minimum credits required for graduation.
Approved, effective Fall 2002
