FACULTY SENATE CURRICULAR RECOMMENDATIONS |
I am informing you that the Provost's Office has received, on March 14, 2005, the
following Actions of the Faculty Senate from its January 18th, February 1st, 15th,
and March 1st, 2005, meetings. Curricular actions include:
- New Minor in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology
- Creation of new undergraduate courses; EDFN 111 - Citizenship and Social
Studies Seminar I: Content Connection, EDFN 112 - Citizenship and Social Studies
Seminar II: Modes of Inquiry across Social Studies Disciplines, ITEC 332 -
Construction Technology II, ITEC 433 - Construction Project Management, PHYS 495 -
Special Topics in Theoretical Physics, ESCI 429 - Weathering Systems Science
- Change in courses: Combine courses CHEM 205 & 206 and increase credits to
four credits; CHEM 205 - The Molecular Basis of Color and Form 3 credits (G2)
(lecture) and CHEM 206 - The Molecular Basis of Color and Form-Chemistry in Art Lab
1 credit (G2, L) (laboratory).
- Revise pre-requisites: PHYS 351 - Intermediate Laboratory I, PHYS 352 -
Intermediate Laboratory II
- Program revision to curriculum addressing the required related requirements
for all B.S. Industrial Technology programs
- New option in Construction Technology for A.T. & B.S. Industrial Technology
programs
- New minor in Construction Technology (Industry and Technology department)
- Creation of new graduate course; EDSE 521 - Contemporary Issues in
Secondary Education
- Change in admission to Advanced Professional Studies (APS) curricula:
Include EDSE 521 - Contemporary Issues in Secondary Education as an acceptable
alternative for EDSE 321, a current APS course.
- New option in ESL for M.Ed. in Language and Literacy
- Change in University Honors College requirements
These matters will be addressed at the March 16, 2005, Deans' Council meeting.
For your information, Deans' Council will schedule Faculty Senate curricular
actions at the third meeting of the month unless canceled. If a Deans' Council
meeting is canceled where curricular actions were on the agenda, they will be
reviewed at the next meeting.
