FACULTY SENATE CURRICULAR RECOMMENDATIONS |
I am informing you that the Provost's Office has received on April 14, 2006, the following Actions of the Faculty Senate from its March 21, 2006, and April 4, 2006, meetings. Curricular actions include:
- New undergraduate course for ART 368 - Collage
New graduate courses for EM 601: Principles & Practices of Emergency Management, EM 603: Technical & Professional Writing for EM Personnel, EM 605: Social Dimensions of Disaster, EM 607: Emergency Mental Health & Trauma, EM 614: Natural Hazards Primer, EM 615: Emergency Preparedness for Industry, EM 653: Theoretical Perspectives & Methods Applied to EM, EM 693: Field Experience Practicum, EM 616: Terrorism, WMD & Homeland Security, EM 617: EM Issues in Communication & Mass Media, EM 618: Humanitarian Responses to International Disasters, EM 629-632: Special Topics Course, 3 credits, EM 689: Independent Study, 1-3 credits
- New Program - Master of Science in Emergency Management
- Change in courses/curricula - B.S. Business Administration, Management option. Proposal to add BUAD 357: International Management to required management courses and reduce management elective credits from 9 to 6 credits.
- Change in courses/curricula - Changes to the ECON minor. Proposal to change requirement from taking either ECON 231, 215 or 318 to taking either ECON 318 or 319
These matters will be addressed at the April 19, 2006, Deans' Council meeting.
For your information, Deans' Council will schedule Faculty Senate curricular actions at the third meeting of the month unless canceled. If a Deans' Council meeting is canceled where curricular actions were on the agenda, they will be reviewed at the next meeting.
