PHYS 231 and PHYS 232 LAB POLICY

  1. The lab is a 3-hour class. Students should use the full lab period for doing the experiment and preparing the lab report. It is expected that experiments and lab reports be finished within the lab period. The lab book report should be checked by and signed by the instructor before leaving the lab.
  2. You should come to each lab class prepared. Read the corresponding sections in the textbook before coming to the lab.
  3. If you cannot finish the experiment because of legitimate reasons, consult the instructor on what procedures to follow.
  4. Make-up labs will be granted only if the missed lab is due to an authorized absence. Please consult the academic policy on absence in the MU catalog.
  5. If even one lab exercise is not completed, signed, and recorded, your grade for the entire course will be an F!
  6. You are encouraged to discuss your work and results with your lab partners and the instructor. However, the analysis and conclusion parts of your lab report must be expressed in your own words to demonstrate your comprehension of the lab. Completely identical lab reports or parts of them will be not tolerated! Please, consult the Brochure on Academic Honesty and Dishonesty at MU.
