Discussion

First Attempt

Initially, when we used higher amounts of lead (50ug and 100ug), all of the chick embryos died (Table 1). This contrasted with Anwer et al. experiment that had a 78% survival rate of embryos exposed to 50ug of lead (Anwer, et al., 1988). However, we injected the chick embryos with lead acetate at a much earlier age, 2-day old than Anwer et al. 7-day old. We concluded that an injection of 50ug or higher of lead at an early embryonic age is lethal. We adjusted our experiment by injecting lower amounts of lead (12.5ug, 25ug) into the chick embryos.
